Iranian Mineral Salts — Three Rare Salts from a Single Source

Most of the world’s table salt comes from a handful of industrial sources — refined, processed, and stripped of the minerals that give natural salt its character. Iran is one of the rare exceptions: a country with ancient salt deposits of extraordinary geological diversity, producing three distinct natural salts in the same region of the world, each with its own mineral composition, colour, and culinary character. At Ersaly, we source all three directly from Iranian producers and ship them worldwide from our UK office in 7–16 days.

Three Iranian Salts — What Sets Each One Apart

Persian Blue Salt — the rarest salt in our collection and one of the rarest in the world. Mined from a single ancient deposit in Semnan province, its blue colour comes from sylvinite (KCl) — a potassium mineral whose crystalline structure refracts light in the blue spectrum.

No two crystals are identical in shade. Persian Blue Salt has a slightly lower sodium content and a mild, subtly sweet finish that makes it particularly well suited as a finishing salt on fish, seafood, dark chocolate, and rare steaks. Available in coarse grain, fine powder, and large crystal formats, and with a dedicated salt grinder. From €29.

Iranian Pink Salt — a naturally pink salt with a mineral profile that includes calcium, magnesium, and potassium. Mined from ancient salt deposits in Iran, it offers a clean, full-bodied flavour suited to everyday cooking and finishing. Available in powder format from €29.

White Rock Salt — the baseline Iranian rock salt, mined from the same ancient geological deposits as our blue and pink varieties. Pure sodium chloride with a clean, neutral taste — available as part of our mixed salt sets.

Iranian Salt Gift Sets — Our Most Distinctive Products

The most popular products in our salt collection are our mixed sets — a concept with no equivalent among our competitors. Our 3-Type Mineral Salt Set with Salt Mills (Blue + Pink + White, 400g with 3 grinders, €69) and our 3-Type Mineral Salt Set with Small Mills (€69 in compact grinders) allow the recipient to experience all three Iranian salt varieties side by side — a format that works equally well as a kitchen upgrade or as a distinctive, conversation-starting gift. Our Blue Salt Rock Lamp (€99) and Himalayan Salt Massage Balls (€23) extend the collection beyond the kitchen into wellness and home decor.

H2: Iranian Mineral Salts — Culinary and Wellness Uses

Natural mineral salts from Iran are used across three distinct contexts. In the kitchen, Blue and Pink salts are finishing salts — added at the table or at the very end of cooking to preserve their mineral character and colour.

In wellness, salt lamps and salt massage balls from the same Iranian deposits are used in spa and home environments for their ionising properties and warm mineral glow. As gifts, the combination of rarity, visual beauty, and authentic Iranian provenance makes our salt sets among the most appreciated products we ship — particularly for Nowruz, housewarmings, and food enthusiast gifts.
