Tiger Eye Prayer Beads — Natural Chatoyant Stone for Dhikr

Tiger Eye (عین الهر) is one of the most visually distinctive natural gemstones used in tasbih and misbaha — a golden-brown quartz variety with a characteristic optical phenomenon called chatoyancy, where a band of reflected light moves across the surface of each bead as it catches the light, resembling the slit pupil of a cat’s or tiger’s eye. This natural shimmer makes Tiger Eye tasbih instantly recognizable in the hand and visually unlike any other prayer bead material.

All Tiger Eye prayer beads at Ersaly are made from genuine natural gemstone — not dyed glass, resin, or synthetic imitations. Each bead is individually checked for clarity, colour consistency, and chatoyant quality before stringing.

Our Tiger Eye Tasbih Collection — 8 Designs

Our Tiger Eye collection offers two bead formats and several stone combinations:

33-Bead Tiger Eye Tasbih — our most portable format, suitable for everyday dhikr and carry. The Elegance 33-Bead Tiger Eye Tasbih features pure Tiger Eye beads in a warm golden-brown tone with a silk tassel at €76. The Real Tiger Eye 33-Bead Tasbih offers a slightly lighter format with a natural karakoosh tassel at €55 — our most accessible Tiger Eye entry point.

101-Bead Tiger Eye Misbaha — our full-count format for extended dhikr sessions. Available in pure Tiger Eye at €69, in combination with Red Agate (Yemeni Aqiq) at €79, with Yellow Agate (Sharaf al-Shams) at €79, and with Labradorite at €79. The 101-bead format can also be worn as a necklace — all our 101-bead pieces include a pendant bead and can be converted between tasbih and necklace use.

Tiger Eye Stone — Properties and Islamic Use

Tiger Eye is a member of the quartz family, formed when crocidolite fibres are replaced by silica during geological metamorphism — a process that creates the parallel fibrous structure responsible for the chatoyant effect. Its colour ranges from golden yellow to deep reddish-brown, with some pieces showing blue (Hawk’s Eye) or red (Red Tiger Eye) tones depending on mineral composition.

In Islamic tasbih tradition, Tiger Eye is valued primarily for its durability and visual beauty rather than specific hadith recommendations — unlike Agate (Aqiq) or Turquoise (Firouza) which carry specific narrations. It is one of the most popular “healing gemstone” tasbih varieties globally, sought by buyers who appreciate natural stone for its aesthetic and tactile qualities during dhikr.

Choosing Between 33 and 101 Beads

The 33-bead format completes one round of SubhanAllah, Alhamdulillah, Allahu Akbar — requiring three full passes to complete the 99-name dhikr cycle. It is the most portable and widely carried format.

The 101-bead misbaha completes the full cycle in a single pass, with the extra bead serving as a starting marker. For Tiger Eye specifically, the 101-bead format is recommended for those who want to also use the tasbih as a necklace — the full length sits naturally as a long pendant.
